A Trial Period for Malta Based Bingo Terminals
October 19, 2006, the Lotteries and Gaming Authority has given a six month trial period for the electronic bingo terminal machines to operators of duly licensed bingo establishments. The six month trial period has been granted by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority after the publication of the new laws and regulations for commercial bingo establishments at the start of year, after which the Lotteries and Gaming Authority will decide if the latest developments in the bingo game that, should be reviewed to ensure proper compatibility of the game with future technologies that will be release in the market. The Lotteries and Gaming Association further said that while the bingo facilities in Malta have always been connected with land based bingo hall, new technologies and innovation are now gradually coming out and can offer a variety of gaming options.
The Lotteries and Gaming Authority is expected to release regulations and specifications guidelines to the licensees on how to operate and control this new form of electronic gaming so that bingo operators who are interested in acquiring this new bingo terminals for their businesses will have an easy time understanding not only the machine but the rules that they have to follow when using it and can be guided accordingly.
